notsure nyc is a brooklyn-based art studio working primarily with eco-safe materials to make furniture, signage, artworks and art prints. 2011 was the start of professional set design with large painted backdrops for fashion editorials and collaborations with photographers with the most economy of budgets. frugality included the re-use of materials, thus working with what you could quickly source was standard. beyond photography sets opened the world of television production, working to build sets for weekly shows. the economy is a different beast, as what gets built gets tossed afterwards (landfill). from that came our desire to make use of what's plentiful: materials. reusing these components is considered valuable to us and exercises problem-solving.
