notsure nyc is a brooklyn-based art studio working primarily with eco-safe materials to make furniture, signage, artworks and art prints. work as set designers began in 2011: building props and painted backdrops for editorial photoshoots. minuscule budgets required the re-use of materials, thus working with what could be quickly sourced was standard. beyond building for photography shoots entered television production, working to build sets for weekly shows. all that is built commonly gets tossed afterward (landfill). from that came our desire to make use of the doomed and plentiful materials. reusing these components is considered valuable to us and in turn, each crafted work is important. it exercises problem-solving, gives new life, and it makes sense.
